Knight (2007) mentioned Reinke (2005) as explaining that an effective classroom learning experience was one where at least 90% of the students involved displayed on task behavior.  This statement, help Mrs. H (a pseudonym) and I develop our instructional goal.  Because the school, B Elementary (a pseudonym) is one that experiences many behavior issues, we decided to attempt to reach the 90% on task behavior goal as our instructional goal during the coaching process.

According to my collected data, during the lesson, students were generally off task about 27% of the time; this would also indicate that students were generally on task about 88% of the time.  Sometime to take into account was the fact hat during the lesson, Mrs. H had to address the off task behavior of mainly one student who was repeatedly displaying off task behavior.  Overall the class was on task.
